Bergen, Aug 27: Fonn Group AS and Mimir announce that TV 2 Norway has signed a deal to replace existing legacy MAM-systems with the cloud-native, serverless production platform that transforms how media organizations create, manage, and distribute content across all channels. The comprehensive implementation  covers TV 2's entire editorial workforce across all departments and locations.

TV 2 Norway has long been recognized as a pioneer in broadcast innovation since its establishment as Norway's first commercial broadcaster in the early 1990s. The company's culture of technological experimentation and willingness to develop custom solutions has historically led to the creation of several successful technology companies, including Vizrt, Mosart and StormGeo, which emerged from TV 2's in-house innovation efforts. This latest partnership with Fonn Group continues TV 2's tradition of embracing cutting-edge technology to stay ahead in an evolving media landscape.

"With Mimir, TV 2 gets a common platform that makes us faster, more flexible, and better equipped to deliver content across our editorial teams. We chose Fonn Group because they have local roots in Bergen, broad international experience, and solid technological expertise. They understand our needs and share our ambition to develop the future of media production," says Christian Birkeland, Chief Digital Officer at TV 2.

Mimir provides TV 2 with a unified workflow platform that spans from ingest to playout and extends seamlessly into digital and OTT publishing workflows. Built as a digital-first platform, Mimir is designed to handle production across all aspects while moving away from legacy house-format workflows by storing all kinds of assets in their original formats. The platform enables seamless collaboration across editorial teams, automated content processing, and intelligent media asset management for traditional broadcast and modern streaming distribution. The platform's cloud-native architecture delivers scalable compute resources on-demand, while its AI-powered capabilities include automated transcription, metadata tagging, content analysis, and smart search functionality that dramatically reduces time spent on manual tasks - instantly making all editorial assets available to everyone.
The addition emphasizes how Mimir represents a fundamental shift from traditional broadcast workflows to a more flexible, format-agnostic approach that preserves asset integrity while enabling multi-platform production.

Moving from traditional broadcast workflows to Mimir represents a fundamental shift toward modern media production for TV 2 Norway. The new platform eliminates traditional hardware dependencies, reduces infrastructure costs, and provides TV 2 with advanced capabilities including real-time collaboration tools, automated compliance workflows, and seamless integration with existing broadcast systems and digital publishing platforms. Content creators can now work from anywhere while maintaining secure access to the full media library, with the platform automatically optimizing content for different formats and distribution channels – from traditional broadcast to streaming services and social media platforms. The platform's elastic scaling ensures consistent performance across all publishing workflows during peak news cycles and major events.

The system has already been provisioned and delivered to TV 2, who expect to go live in production this year.
"We're honored to support TV 2 as they modernize their workflows for the future. We believe Mimir's cloud-native approach can help their talented teams work more efficiently, whether they're covering breaking news or producing long-form content for broadcast and digital platforms," says Haavard Myklebust, Fonn Group CEO. "TV 2 has always been at the forefront of broadcast innovation, so we're learning as much from them as we hope to contribute to their success. We're particularly excited to see how their talented people will use our platform in new and innovative ways we haven't even imagined yet. It's also particularly meaningful for us that they've chosen to work with a fellow Bergen company."
