Bergen, Norway, Sept 8, 2023 — Mimir, the video production and collaboration platform for professionals, is announcing new features and integrations to be demonstrated at the IBC2023. See the company in hall 7, stand 7.D06.

Live video directly in the newsroom with LiveU and Mimir

"Mimir is the number one tool for video production and collaboration in the cloud. A major news for IBC is the integration with LiveU, bridging the gap between technical systems and the newsroom. Journalists can now view incoming video footage live, providing a new level of insights into what goes on in the field" says VP of Sales at Mimir, Kristian Kim Eikeland.

Eikeland adds: "Key to the workflow with LiveU is that it is all happening in the cloud, without the need to invest in traditional video ingest infrastructure. LiveU can store content directly into the Mimir PAM/MAM where they previously had to wait until a recording was completed.". See more information about the LiveU integration here.

Share the workflow with new rough-cutting capabilities

For sharing the workload between the newsroom and the editing suite, Mimir introduces a new rough-cutter at IBC. Users can now do simple cutting and stitching in Mimir, create new video files or send as EDLs to Adobe Premiere.

New collaboration and metadata features

Mimir users can now securely share, review, comment, and receive files, folders, and collections of assets with internal and external contributors, including bulk receiving assets to folders and shared projects. Should there be any metadata conflicts, users can now collaborate and edit metadata simultaneously.

Automatic metadata enrichment includes transcription, face, label, and optical character recognition support on live video sources.
Mimir now also supports hierarchical metadata structures and sub-types.

New RAW formats supported

BlackMagic RAW, Canon RAW, and Panasonic RAW are now supported formats. More RAW formats will continue to be added.

Extended integration with NLE systems

With the tight integration with Adobe Premiere Pro, users can now collaborate on projects and use editing templates in Mimir. Videos can be edited on proxy versions independent of physical location and with a central rendering, reducing the bandwidth and computing power required. This workflow is supported across a wide range of integrated editing systems.

At IBC you can see Mimir at a number of integration partners, such as AWS in hall 5, qibb, LiveU, Vimond, Wolftech, and more.
